Welcome to Bloomsburg University’s Reaccreditation Web Page Bloomsburg University is currently in the self-study
phase of reaccreditation with the Middle States Commission on Higher
Education. Our current ten-year reaccreditation cycle will conclude in
spring 2009 with a campus visit by a team of educators from peer
institutions followed by the Commission’s issuance of their recommendation. The University has formed the Middle States Steering Committee to conduct a comprehensive self-study of the entire institution. The committee has designed a comprehensive self-study plan around the fourteen accreditation standards promulgated by the Middle States Commission. The standards are available for review in the Commissions publication, Characteristics of Excellence in Higher Education, which can be viewed on the Commission’s website at http://www.msche.org/. It is the goal of the steering committee to complete a self-study that accurately portrays Bloomsburg University to the Middle States Commission while simultaneously providing a document which the university can use to lead it forward into the next decade. Accordingly, the final report submitted to the commission will be both candid and provide constructive recommendations that can be acted upon by the members of the university community. This web site is designed to provide ready access to information concerning the progress of the self-study. We strongly encourage all members of the university’s constituency to engage in a dialog concerning the self-study process and to submit their commentary to the members of the steering committee.
