Wellness Intern Job Description

SUMMARY:
To engage an undergraduate or graduate student of related academic interest in the operation of GHP’s wellness department through participation in the planning, execution and analysis components of current and future program initiatives.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Support overall objectives of wellness program under the direction of wellness specialists and sales management.

 Collaborate with wellness specialists to assist with the following activities:

1. Enter member/group specific information in to wellness database.
2. Assist with data analysis and interpretation.
3. Work with Care Coordination team to facilitate relevant interaction with wellness programs.
4. Accompany wellness specialists at work site seminars and screenings to provide support as directed by permanent staff.
5. Create duty log by week to record experience for professional development and educational requirements, as necessary.
6. Meet with senior leader officials from Executive Administration, PNM, Sales, Underwriting and Medical Management to enhance GHP internship experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to communicate effectively and work with others as a member of a team.
Ability to work independent of constant supervision.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Basic computer aptitude including Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
(Access Program literacy, beneficial)

EDUCATION

Currently enrolled as a full or part time undergraduate or graduate student with a special interest in health services or health related issues.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work typically performed in an office environment. Independent travel is required. Use of personal vehicle may be required. Professional dress code applies.
