Internship Opportunity - Geisinger Health Systems

MARKETING AND INSIDE SALES – Wilkes Barre Location
Fall 2007 Internship

JOB SUMMARY
To study and learn, consistent with the guidelines outlined by the Geisinger Health Plan and the student’s university, the various aspects of Marketing and Inside Sales, specific to GHP’s Commercial and Small Business products, enrollment of members, customer service, and Marketing and Inside Sales strategies.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Internship will involve efforts coordinated through the following areas of Sales and Marketing:
1. Sales
2. Marketing
3. Market Research
4. Customer Service
2. Assist with and observe the scheduling of enrollment meetings for GHP Commercial and Small Business representatives, via cold calling prospects from Onyx Database.
3. Assist with obtaining and organizing data reflective of the market place.
4. Assist with and observe inside sales representatives as they interact with new and prospective members.
5. Learn applicable government guidelines as they apply to inside sales and marketing for HMO and PPO products.
6. Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively via cold calling strategies.
Demonstrated self-motivation.
Demonstrated organizational skill and attention to detail.
Demonstrated understanding of computer applications, including word and excel.
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Presently attending an accredited college. Must be interested in Sales and Marketing.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work typically preformed in an office environment.  Professional Dress Code is required.
