Objective:                  Given the web-based worksheet that contains links to web pages, students will be able to correctly answer 8 questions about Desktop Publishing.  The teacher will assess the student’s answers using the answer key and the Web Worksheet Rubric.

 

 

 

Directions:

 

1.     You will be answering the worksheet questions using the Internet links provided for you in each question. (Click on the underlined words in the question.)

 

2.     Open a new Word document.  Save as webworksheet.doc. Type your Name, “Marketing/Desktop Publishing Web-Based Worksheet” and the Date at the top of the page using a header. 

 

3.     Key (word process) the Number AND the Question from the worksheet followed by your answer to the question.  Answer in complete sentences.

 

4.     When you are finished, print your document and hand in to your teacher.

 

5.     Total possible points to receive on this assignment is 15 plus a bonus of 2.

3.     Why is Desktop Publishing important?

 

4.     The basic creation of a document using desktop publishing techniques involves six (6) areas.  Name these areas.

 

5.     There are different marketing materials that can be used to promote your business. Click on the “How, and How Often” article and explain when flyers, postcards and newsletters should be used.

 

6.     A brochure is a marketing material that explains what a business has to offer their customers.  Read over the steps in “Creating Your Brochure” and name the 4 steps to “start your brochure.” (hint: Look under “Create Your Brochure”)

 

7      Clip art is graphics (pictures) that you can insert in your marketing materials to add interest and impact.  Go to the Design Gallery Live and write what the “New Clip of the Day” was.

 

8.     After the document is designed and the file prepared for printing, the last step in Desktop Publishing is the actual printing along with any finishing touches required.  Under Finishing and Distribution, name the 5 items that can be done to your finished document.
